About Slaughter Nostalgia
Slaughter Nostalgia blends the bold with the delicate, creating unique wearable art that not only stands out but stands the test of time. Founded in 2021, Slaughter Nostalgia was born from a lifelong passion for craftsmanship, fashion, fine art photography, and practical creation.
Founder and Creative Director Elisabeth O’Rourke seamlessly blends her backgrounds in photography, metalsmithing, and furniture design to craft unique pieces of wearable art. Driven by a desire to merge the feminine with the hard, Elisabeth creates striking jewelry that juxtaposes delicate stones with robust metals to create timeless, wearable art pieces.
The brand's journey began when Elisabeth, already an accomplished fine art photographer with a bachelor’s degree in photography, discovered her talent for metalsmithing. Combining her love for handcrafted artistry and sustainable style, she started making jewelry and upcycled clothing, transforming each piece into a unique expression of self.
The name ‘Slaughter Nostalgia’ is inspired by a horoscope reading that urged O’Rourke to embrace living in the present, move beyond past regrets, and embody the spirit of innovation and fearless creativity by ‘slaughtering nostalgia’ and moving with intention towards a better tomorrow.
Each Slaughter Nostalgia piece is designed and carved by O’Rourke in Los Angeles, with raw castings sourced from trusted, certified casters in New Mexico and Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA). Elisabeth personally oversees the finish work of each and every Slaughter Nostalgia piece, ensuring every item that makes it to our site and stockists for sale meets her exacting standards.
Slaughter Nostalgia prioritizes responsible sourcing for all the materials used to create Slaughter Nostalgia’s beautiful jewelry, striving to create beautiful, quality pieces that celebrate individuality and timeless craftsmanship.
